Ok, so this post will probably be pretty long... so please click on the video below and listen to classy classical music while you're reading this so I can pretend that Im writing a fancy blog ;)
Or, not if its not what your really into... *___*
Anyways, since my KLEC class starts on September first I will be going to Seoul around the last week of August with my amazing daddy and my older brother. (too bad my momma couldn't come :[ ).
So at this point I really wanted to find a place to stay before getting there for a couple of reasons :
1) My daddy and brother is going and since we don't have that much time, I don't want to cut into their exploring time with my house searching, if I can help it.
2) I just don't feel like running all over kingdom kom (did I spell that right?) and not speaking that great of korean.
WOOOAAHHH WAIITTT .. IM GETTING WAY AHEAD OF MY STORY....
So the couple of options I had lined up were Dorm (Sogang Gonzaga hall), Hasukjibs, Home-stays Goshiwons and One Rooms.
And on to the long explanations :
1) : Dorms : Sogang's new dorm Gonzaga hall was.. pretty impressive. Im not really a < "HEY LETS SHARE BATHROOMS AND SPREAD OUR GERMS EVERYWHERE!! YAYYY"> kind of person, but from the gonzaga hall pictures it looked pretty nice. And plus they have other options of one student per room.
So you can just search around and find their pictures, and it was really nice to me mainly because they have guest suites which has couch, kitchen, washing machines ALL IN YOUR OWN ROOM!! like an apartment :D but they were SOO expensive.
Any how despite my hardcore blabbing, I message Sogang and NO they do not have open rooms :( and so moving on to my next option.
-Replay classical music if it has just stopped- ;) I got you. LOL. -
2) : Hasukjibs : I actually decided on this choice (My next post will be a story of my searching for hasukjibs without being in korea...one word<EPIC>) So hasukjibs are basically off campus dorms, and each hasuk has a ahjumma (older lady) or a ahjussi (older mister), or both as a couple, cooking 2 meals a day, and theres also other student from other colleges or countries there also, (GREAT language immersion apparently). So I thought thats kind of nice.
3) : Goshiwons : THE ROOMS ARE SOO TINY. and that was the reason why I really decided against it. =____= " A goshiwon (고시원) is a small room somewhere around three square metres (1.5 pyeong) that students will often live in for a number of months in order to focus on a test." according to Galbijim Site
And let me tell you... they ARE tiny heres a photo of the whole room.
OH HEYY, THATS YOUR ENTIRE ROOM!
Ok so, so... not happening...
4) : Home-Stays : basically you live with a family, and submerge in their everyday life. but since there are so many stories of home-stays gone wrong. My parents didn't really feel safe with me going to a home stay.

5) : One-Rooms: Last but not least One-rooms. Its basically a studio apartment with your bed, kitchen, living-room area all in one one. Its so nicee :( BUT heres the catch YOU (yes you, if you're going to get one) has to pay a deposit of anywhere from 5,000 usd to 10,000 usd. The more you deposit, the less monthly rent you have.... Im not that rich.. -_____- so FUDGE that. And I am not about to ask my parents because it is kind of ridiculous. And for those of you who can just go get one.. -GV KESDFJDSBCKNVJB CJK- I AM SO JEALOUS.
So thats basically it.. DON'T forget to read my next post!! on my hasukjib phone calls across the sea!!!
